Frequently Asked Questions

If you are considering counselling or psychotherapy in the Whitsundays, Cannonvale or Airlie Beach area you may be asking some of the following questions. If you have other questions please feel free to contact us directly.

Do I need a referral?

- You do not need a referral to see a counsellor or psychotherapist.

If you are consulting your GP it is a good idea to let them know you are engaged in therapy as this can be an important part of your overall health plan.

Can I claim for part of my session cost through Medicare or a Private health Fund?

- Counselling is not covered under Medicare or most Private Health Funds at this stage. For this reason I offer discounted session fees to individuals who hold a Pension Health Care Card.

How many sessions will I have?

- Everyone has differnt needs and there is no set number of sessions that suits all people. Sometimes a single meeting is enough to find clarity. For the majority of people around six sessions is sufficent to make a real difference. Some individuals have very complex needs that requires support over a longer period.

How ever many sessions you attend ending therapy doesn't mean you can't return when you face new cahllenges or feel the need for a check in.

Where is SeeChange Therapy located?

- Our office is at 16 Begley St Airlie Beach. Inside the blue Airlie Beach Chiropractic building. There is a separate entrance for SeeChange clients off the side of the building adjacent to the private carpark.

What payment methods do you accept?

- At this stage we do not have EFTPOS or Credit Card facilities so payments can be made in cash, via EFT direct deposit or with PayPal.
